The Southern Burkina Faso experienced insecurity since 2014, especially the Comoé Province in the Cascades Region. Violence has been progressively extended to the bordering areas of Côte d’Ivoire and affects now populations in the both countries. Since March 2021, there has been a gradual displacement of refugees from Burkina Faso to the Bounkani and Tchologo regions (Côte d’Ivoire).

The displaced population is now estimated at around 6000 persons including children, pregnant and lactating women. Save the children Côte d’Ivoire preparing a response plan to provide humanitarian assistance to the affected people Health, Nutrition, Child protection, EiE and CVA


The Humanitarian response Manager will be in charge of setting up the response including planification, Staff recruitment, procurement... He will also be responsible for the implementation of the humanitarian response procedure, and will be accountable for ensuring SC humanitarian standards and humanitarian policy are implemented. This position supports the CHS commitments and will be championing CHS as part of below outlined:




  • Excellent organization, planning, communication and coordination skills.
  • Experience of ensuring adherence to organisational policy, practice and systems which ensures compliance with legal/regulatory requirements and organisational risk management standards.
  • Experience as a champion and advocate of good Child Safeguarding and Anti-Harassment practice.
  • Proven ability to drive continuous improvement and develop new ways of working.
  • Relevant experience of working in humanitarian teams/programmes and/or being deployed to humanitarian responses.
  • Prior experience working in challenging circumstances (including long hours at little or no notice in the event of a major, sudden onset emergency)
  • Highly developed relationship building, influencing, negotiating and interpersonal skills.
  • Adaptable working style; effective when working in situations that may appear ambiguous.
  • Clear thinker who remains calm and focussed when working under pressure, with experience in delivering results in exceptional circumstances.
  • Ability to communicate fluently in French and English (both verbal and written).
  • Quality focused with strong attention to details.


Previous experience in leading SC humanitarian responses especially for population displacement crisis in a conflict sensitive context
